jobThere has been confusion whether the 27th day of the month is a non-working holiday or not.

First, the inquirer.net on its breaking news announced that the 27’th of the month is declared (the exact term) by the president as a non-working holiday. Filipino bloggers, specifically the INC’s blogged the matter in order to announce the news: topblogs.com.phmacuha.com, spankyenriquez.blogspot.com.

Being a logical thinker that I am…. Hmnn…. Okay, political reasons may have fuel this special treatment, since the INC as we have known is known for its block-list voting practice which politicianssssss are craving for. But I wondered what would other sect would say about this, they will feel treated unfairly I think. The unending “How-about-ours!” appeal could have storm the malacanañang palace which if given way could result to an all-month non-working holidays, considering all religious denominations that we have on our country.

CBCP and other religions could have reacted to the announcement, which if compared would be a lot more members (or votes) than the INCs.

So I researched about this issue, and later I found directly from the Office of the President’s website the announcement with tangible republic act thing which reads verbatimly:

MANILA (PND) — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared July 27 of this year and every year thereafter as “Iglesia ni Cristo Day.”

The Chief Executive issued the declaration in keeping with Republic Act 9645, which she signed into law June 12 this year, declaring the said day as a special national working holiday in recognition of the founding anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) in the Philippines.

False alarm!

Was it a typo error or did a credibly-known online publication just made a mistake ?

Typo error…? Now that was something they have to resolve immediately.
