What is YouTube.com ?
YouTube.com is simply a portal wherein you can upload your videos. These uploaded videos are commonly intended to be shared for the public. YouTube dot com has been widely and has become very popular that it had more than six billion videos viewed as of January 2009.
Why YouTube.com is so Popular ?
You Tube dot com or properly YouTube.com as a domain name was lunch on February 2005, originally created by three previous paypal employees. Because of its million users everyday, the giant online service – Google.com bought YouTube.com for $1.65 billion dollars. Being a very friendly user and easy video uploading features, and now being run by an online-tycoon, you tube or youtube.com had becoming more and more popular without much advertising effort.
How To Upload Video on You Tube ?
The reason why online community like YouTube is that anyone can upload their own videos, and yes, that includes you! And if you think that’s cool enough, well have anyone told you that you can upload as many videos as you want ? And everything is for free ! Sharing videos has never been so easy before you tube . com was born.
And here are the easy steps to have your own video be uploaded on you tube dot com.
First, just like any typical online services, you need to create your own account. Again, it’s free, all you have to do is to sign up their form. After sending the form they will email you in which you need to click the supplied link on their email to activate you account.
Second, after activating your account, you can now upload you own video by clicking the orange upload button located at the upper right of the you tube window. Then you can browse your video file from your folder, give it some title and description, add some tags if you want, then just click upload and wait until everything is done.
Some side notes though:
Videos must not be greater than 10 minutes long — this is not a major issue since 10 minutes is too long for an ordinary personal videos to be shared. I had tried uploading a video with more than 10 minutes long but it doesn’t took long for them to deactivate that video, so make sure to remember this.
Errata :
Online users, especially the newbies, people who are not good in spelling or normal persons who are not English speakers are normally confused between different spellings of youtube.com. They usually use www you tube com as separate entities or you tubes. If you’re one of them, please be advice that it is really www.youtube.com and it doesn’t have any alternate spellings, just youtube.com. Use this next time!
